i need help my computer is seriously odd

now my computers internet will only work in ubuntu and the thing is i need the internet on windows

because ubuntu doesnt have shockwave (yes i have signed all the petitions) and my parents recon ubuntu is the worst thing for a computer to have


in windows my local area connection doesnt exist is there a way to copy configuration to windows so it will work

or maybe copy it from another computer

anything lke that will help

i just need the internet in windows and im all good

can anyone plz post

I will take any sujestion seriously(unless it is stupid)

so plz help me out

I moved this thread to the Windows subforum.

What I can suggest is copying down all your linux settings and try to get the same thing in Windows. Unfortunately, I forgot the exact procedure due to me not having booted up windows for 6 months.

first of all, enter "device manager" and make sure the ethernet card is installed properly. otherwise download the correct drivers (through ubuntu) and install them. Also make sure you've got all the networking components installed through "add/remove programs" (there should be a feature there from which you can add remove core windows components, such as networking, tcp/ip, qos packet scheudler etc). You'll need to have the windows install cd to complete this step if i remeber correctly.
You can also complete this step if you right click "network" and select "properties", and use one of the menus to get to the list of protocols/services etc, and from there install tcp/ip and qos...
