PS: They are staying with the Mac look, and yes there are also some screenshots and more information on the Dreamlinux forum.
This is just the Beta, but the final release due next month is going to be pretty awesome.

Do you know when the regular release will come out? I am about to install the last full release on an old laptop and don't want to reinstall when the new version comes out.

Actually, I am probably going to have to install version 2 on the computer this weekend. How easy is it to upgrade to the new version?

They did a complete base change, so I highly doubt there is an upgrade path. I would avoid the version 2 release and go right to 3beta, as 2 was nothing but trouble after install.

Im testing out version 3 in VMware now, but I will install the beta instead of 2.2, thanks for the reply. BTW, what do you mean by "nothing but trouble," I have it on another computer and it works great.

That is the joy of different hardware configurations I would expect.
I have a great Gigabyte motherboard that has an inbuilt incompatibility with various Linux distro's & FreeBSD's, which interferes with the keyboard timing & sometimes causes the mouse to misbehave. I eventually found out that it was due to the on board USB controller. So I turned it off in the BIOS & stuck a PCI card in, no more problems!
It took well over a year of not trying very hard, to solve that one... :lolflag:

I'm in the process of installation now, have only just got to first boot. So I don't know much; the menu is very similar to that of Gutsy, but we have the animated OS X type menu too, which is different. :-) There is actually a strong resemblance to OS X in the Control Panel too.
From the menu you can choose to use DL Easy Install, which currently has 13 popular app's that must install easily. Including the likes of Google Earth, Opera, nVidia drivers, Acrobat Reader...
Apparently DL has been designed in a modular fashion, at this point I don't know exactly what that means. It probably has to do with refining the build for the MkDistro (http://www.dreamlinux.com.br/saiba-tutor.html) application, which would also probably be the reason that DL is solely based on Debian now. I expect that someone else who knows about these things will elucidate in the near future.

Is the gnome version using AWM or engage for the dock? It's looking really nice!

Once you get your graphics card drivers installed then AWN started up for me instead of Engage. Compiz was very easy to get running. I'm really loving this so far.

It's not very happy on my hardware, I'll bail out & have another look at the final release of v3.

Its working nicely on my main comp, but on my old lappy the sound only worked on the external speakers. I do like the new themes, but I can't wait for the final release.

I just tried it and was impressed, but... I get no networking - wired or wireless. Both work OOTB with other distro's. Oh well, back to Mint until the final release.

I had the same problem, but you can turn the networking on in the settings panel. Just click "network admin" or "network" (I forget which it is) and enable your ethernet card by going to properties and clicking enable.

Cheers for that. I got networking up and running. However, it runs so slowly on my Dell Precision M90. The mouse cursor is very hard to move and then just 'jumps' around. Also, the Gnome panels and Nautilus don't always redraw. Perhaps it's a video driver problem.

Well, there are some distro-specific apps that have been added by the developers, and the latest Dreamlinux 3.0 release is based on Debian Lenny.
They have the easy installer:

A new GUI installer:

And the unique MKdistro which allows you to create your very own personalized Linux distro from the live cd !!
There is a step by step guide on dreamlinuxforums.org
