I had a quick scan at that and it real says nothing about the difference, althoughreading between the lines it seems to come with lots of pre installed software

UE has a lot of preinstalled software. Some of the software installed happens to be software that newer users have a hard time installing. There is also an upgrade script in the OS that allows the user to install more software that can not be installed by default.

TheeMahn has also written a couple of nice scripts to go along with UE. I like the Usplash maker script. You just right click on an image and click on make usplash. Nice little script.

By signing up to the Ultimate Edition forums you can download the UE Christmas Edition. Consider this a 2.0 version of the original Ubuntu Christmas Edition. It comes with Gnome, KDE, Sawfish, and more as WMs. Then there is also the 1.6 Gamers Edition that of course includes a lot of games.

Edit: Click my sig for more info.

Just installing it under vmware before i commit it to the HD and drop PCLOS.
I can say it looks very nice (if black is your colour?)

Yeah, TheeMahn likes dark themes. One recommendation, click on the upgrade icon after installing. It should fix the FireFox/dark theme problem for you.

Don't use the opening script that installs Flash or Acrobat. I don't know why but this didn't work well on my system either/ Go to any site that uses Flash and you can install from there. Same goes for Acrobat, find a pdf file online and try to open it. As for the Nvidia drivers, you can't use them in a VMWare because it uses software emulation for video.

i used ultimate for a little bit, and found it to be a little over the top. too many apps i'll never use. i like the theme, but that's easily achieved by changing ubuntu's default theme.
