Does any one know of a GDK tutorial ? Not a GTK one though.

Thanks LaRoza
However the first 2 are more the reference manual. The second is close to what I am after though I am after more examples of programming in GDK as opposed to GTK. I was wondering if their is a straight tutorial or examples of using GDK without the use of GTK.

They are the reference manuals, good to have, even if you don't use them immediately. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a tutorial for it on par with the GTK tutorials. There doesn't seem to be much of a demand (which is why I linked to the documentation, so you had a definitive, if less than ideal, place to look.)

Thanks again LaRoza
Maybe it is something someone might want to do. I'm new to Ubuntu and so am trying to do some basic programming, not keen on GTK+ but the GDK had somethings which I wanted to explore. Just finding it hard to get the basics. Was hoping to find some examples everything from the basic "Hello world" type of program up. Anyone ?

A tip for dealing with GTK+, GDK, GLib and friends' documentation: download the doc packages from the repositories and also install devhelp (a nice documentation browser).
So, if you get offline, you'll have everything in your computer.
EDIT: GNOME's documentation is unbeatable: really easy to read. Give it a chance!
