Well I dont really want to install and configure openbox or awesome myself, rather, is there a distro out there that comes packed with only openbox or awesome? ( Like say Ubuntu comes with only GNOME)

I am eager to try them out. :)

There are a lot of distro's that come with no wm preinstalled, and installing openbox or awesome shouldn't take longer than 2 or 3 seconds ;-)

oh! thanks.

but I understand English better so Greenie Linux is not an option. Will try out Tiny Me tough.

btw, why is awesome not there?

Heard good thing about TinyMe.

Also.. you can also use a distro like Debian that does package a lot of wm's on disk, although it installs Gnome by default.

TinyMe and GrafPup come with Openbox.

Give TinyMe a try. I think a stable release still has to come out, but so far the developers have done an excellent job. TinyMe is fast, fairly beautiful (though they could have dropped the big conky slab) and very polished. I am very impressed with it.

like I said before, its realy not possible because I need to install it on a lot of older machines where I wont get a connection to the internet. :(

I just found this remaster of Ubuntu with Openbox called CrunchBang Linux.
I have tried it on my old PIII laptop and surprisingly it is very nice !

Check it out here (http://crunchbang.org/archives/2008/01/22/crunchbang-linux-7-dot-10-dot-01-release-notes/) and give it a try, I bet you will love it :)

Cheers,
