Or will this updated release only be for the server edition?

I think it's a server-only release. I had been watching it for a desktop version but I think server is the only thing you'll see.

The Ubuntu team is proud to announce the release of Ubuntu 6.06.2 LTS, the second maintenance release of "Dapper Drake". This release includes updated Server installation CDs for the i386 and amd64 architectures.
Emphasis is mine; that leads me to believe there won't be a desktop ISO download.
