I am relatively unexperienced in linux. However, I had a raid-array running under ubuntu 6.xx. Today I upgraded to 7.10 and now /dev/md0 is gone. :(

/etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf (still?) reads:
-- begin listing --
DEVICE /dev/hda1 /dev/hdb1 /dev/hdc1 /dev/hdd1
ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid5 num-devices=4 UUID=f2211e32:3cefb926:62d2bc1f:91ce82a6

MAILADDR root
-- end listing --

Any helpful suggestion of how to recover the array?

Do you have mdadm installed? If memory serves, I don't think the program is part of the liveCD package.

Yes. I have. My problem is: the raid array should still be intact and unaffected by the upgrade, but I don't understand why it is not recognized by the system.
