Hey!

Im forced to use Windows for a while now, and I'm trying to customize it as much a possible to feel like ubuntu so my eyes wont hurt from the ugliness.

So far, I think I have done a pretty good job, but there is one thing thats bothering me, I'm using the "classic start menu", to look like the main menu in gnome, but when I use that, an extremely ugly blue bar saying "Windows XP" shows up on the side.
Look at this picture to see what i mean:

Now, I know that if you choose "use small icons", its goes away, but I dont want to use small icons, I want the normal sized ones, but still not have the ugly blue thing.

I have even searched all the Windows folders for images, and looking at everyone, but there is no image like the ugly blue thing, so i cant delete it from there.

I know that this might be a strange place to ask such a question, but I'm thinking that other gnome users have been forced to use Windows for different reasons, and have wanted it to feel like gnome.

Any help is appreciated.

i don't remember exactly but i do recall that a program called tweakUI might be able to help you. it was primarily used for making similar changes. i don't remember exactly hough cause i haven't used it since windows 98.

Hey!
Yeah i have already tried that and other things, one strange thing now however is that i have actually made it go away, and i don't even know how.
Now theres just black where the blue gradeint was before, and i guess thats okay, dont think its possible to do any more.
