I want to be absolutely sure that when I start my computer iptables or w/e-- just some kind of firewall that'll block any type of hacker trying to get in my computer (it's a laptop hooked up to a home wireless network with a pass). I don't want anyone in my computer. I thought linux and especially Ubuntu was one of the most secure OSs around; I want to be sure I'm secure. I'm not dumb and I stay away from e-mail attachments I'm not familiar with and bad websites and stuff. I installed noscript and block all script except for websites I'm sure about. I don't want anyone but me in my computer. Does a GOOD firewall start when I start up Ubuntu? If not, how can I make it do this? I configured firestarter but it doesn't show the icon when I turn on the Ubuntu OS partition. Help?
