I don't see it.

No, no Linux only Windows and MacOSX.
Could you be more specific, even though I'm not that much interested in such a closed-source application I would like to now more about their "Linux-support".
EDIT: Forget it I found it. Well at least they support Jack, wich is a big plus.

I find it interesting that they took a poll in mid December and one month later--a Linux version. Couldn't have been that difficult to port. Why didn't they do it earlier?
Has anyone used it to compare it with already-existing music composition tools?

Renoise is the most advanced music tracker out there.
It lacks some certain features but it's probably the fastest advancing sequencer out there hands down.

Is buying this going to only give me the beta version or will it be purchasing a licensed copy that keeps giving updates? How stable is this on ubie studio right now anyway? Jack compatible etc?

Hi, I'm It-Alien of Renoise team.
thanks for your interest into our software.
By purchasing Renoise, you are entitled for access to beta versions, and your registration will be valid until x+1.0 version; if you register now, your registration wil be valid until 2.9 excluded.
You will also be entitled to use Renoise on all three supported platforms (Win, Mac, Linux); the only limitation is that the license is personal and cannot be given to anyone.
However, we plan to release a demo version for Linux users soon. Demo versions of Renoise have these two main limitations:
- they don't give the ability to render your songs to WAV
- a nag screen may appear at times
a third limitation exists, but it has no effect for Linux users since it disables the usage of ASIO drivers.

I'm pretty sure that I've decided to wait until its non-beta release (unless a demo convinces me of its stability first). Though I am quite excited to see this.

I'm convinced! I saw the beta-version run on my friends laptop and i was impressed. I'm going to buy it when cash once again runs through my system.

i've been a renoise user on windows for a year or so and i've just come back to ubuntu to check out the studio version and to use try out the renoise port - and, well, no complaints from me - works better than the included software - finds my edirol ua101 soundcard, works with jack - is a stable as ever and imho is the most advanced tool for making music on linux.
with the demo version there is no longer any reason to hold out - it's only about 11meg to download and it rules!

Wow I'm really impressed by this piece of software.
It makes go nuts again, the same experience I had with reason on windows!

With input from a very enthusiastic user community, two and a half months were spent on bug fixes and stability improvements for the Linux beta. The work has paid off and the Linux version is now officially 1.9.1 "GOLD" like its OS X and Windows counterparts. Beside everything else you have on Windows and Mac, Linux specific features include: ALSA support (for Audio and MIDI), JACK Audio support (optional), LADSPA support (native Linux audio plugins), and VST support (for Linux NATIVE VSTs).
