That's sad to hear. I never really heard of this gentleman before, but I did read some parts of his blog - like his "war with cancer".

My brother recently had a cancerous skin lesion removed from his wrist, leaving about a six inch scar across it. He had seen it for several years and just ignored it. The sad truth is I hate doctors even moreso than my brother - not hate them personally, mind you, but hate what blows they may deliver to my Samson like ego of perfect health. My younger brother-in-law is a doctor, and he won't quit chasing me around the house with his stethoscope when he visits.

I've got all kinds of things which bug me daily, but I just pop an aspirin or swig a Shiner to kill it off and go about my business. I figure as long as I can still walk and talk, a trip to the hospital for a routine checkup interferes with my busy schedule. I would imagine most men feel the same. It really is a tragedy to see someone so young lose their life. After reading his blog, it gave me some initiative to thumb through my PPO book for a checkup, so, I can thank a young man whom I never even met for the wisdom he left behind...
