Open Arena Keeps exiting Full Screen

When I play Open Arena on my Asus Eee PC, 800x480 in full screen occasionally I have the game drop out of full screen mode. The game usually stays active, but I lose control of input. I can't use the mouse or keyboard to navigate my computer, let alone the game. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

Hey, yeah I got the same problem in Ubuntu 8.04 64bits.
I've got a AMD dualcore 4800 @ 2.8ghz with Kingston Hyper-X RAM and a nVidia GeForce 7900GT Sonic Edition, so there's power enough :confused:
What can we do to fix the problem?

Turn off compiz. Your screensaver is kicking in causing the problem. I had the same problem with ioquake3 and Enemy Territory Quake Wars. Turning off compiz solved the problem. Compiz can also cause some loss of framerate.

I suppose I should add that compiz is your "Advanced Desktop Effects". Accessible through System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects
