View Full Version : Changing fonts in conky eats up CPU

Hi all, this is probably a dumb question, but I was surprised to discover that changing fonts several times in Conky dramatically increases its CPU usage. I like to change fonts to some of the symbol fonts to get nice looking symbols, but after putting in like 8 or 9 of these, conky goes from taking around 1% (or less) of the CPU to 10%.

Is there any way to possibly get around this? Is conky just going to a fonts folder of some sort and searching for the font that matches the specified name, or is it doing something else?

Thanks in advance.
