Hi!,

I just installed screenlets. I don't have compiz coz my integrated card (Via) doesn't support it. I can't get rid of the black boarders on all screenlets I install on my desktop. I tried configuring each one by right-click->properties->options but I can't see where I can eliminate the black boarders. Can anyone help?

I attach a screenshot of my desktop. The black boarders ruin it.

Thanks.

You definitely need a compositing environment to use those screenlets and the Avant Window Navigator I see you got running there, since it's those that enable the transparency. All is not lost, though. Gdesklets gives you similar capabilities, but not as flashy.

Hi,

That's not AWN. I'm using cairo-dock. So are you saying I can use gdesklets instead of screenlets? Is it in the repo? If I go by your first suggestion, which compositing manager would you recommend? I dont have a high-end graphics card.

Thanks.

I doubt you can use any compositing manger whatsoever with that card. If you want to enjoy one, buy a cheap Nvidia card, for instance.

As for gdesklets, yes, check out for yourself.
