Hey all. I downloaded a few themes off of Gnome Look, and extracted the tar into my ~/.icons directory. Then I went into the "Appearances" dealie, went under "Customize" and "pointers" and selected my theme (Obsidian, by the by).

However, it only changes in Firefox and on the toolbar. On the desktop the cursor stays the same old one, as it does in most windows until I hover over the minimize/maximize/close buttons, THEN it snap to the new theme. Soon as I move away, it's gone again.

Additionally, gcursor is completely unresponsive. "Install new theme" and "browse theme directory" elicit no response. Nothing opens, no dialogs or anything. My cursor looks great... in Firefox (and Pidgin, but only in the text boxes, not over the menu items). I'd like to know what in the world is going on!

Running 7.10, Compiz and Emerald (if that means squat).

EDIT: I tried to take a screenshot, but the cursor doesn't show up when I do that. Harumf.

Hi!
You must tell Compiz to use this arrow... I don't remember exactly where do you have to go to change it, but it was in CCSM (if you don't have it: "sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager"). I'm at school right now. When I go home, I'll see it write to you.
