If your graphics card does not have the greatest open gl support. (my intel 945gm for example) is there anyway to get the DirectX drives in wine, then force games to run in DirectX?

Sorry directx installation isn't really beneficial in most situations, and can actually make things worse in others.
I advise highly AGAINST it unless your application has a specific need for it.
IE: World of Warcraft can make use for the default "directx" libraries that come /w WINE.
WINE actually converts all DirectX functions to OpenGL on the fly from my best understanding.
There is absolutely no way to actually use DirectX in Linux.
