Open a Root Terminal

Edit -> Profiles -> Edit -> Effects -> Transparent Background.

A quicker way is to just click on Edit Current Profile instead of using Profiles -> Edit. So the chain is...

Edit -> Current Profile... -> Effects -> Transparent Background
