The FSF says the OS has DRM, restrict you can do, and you can't share it. Source: http://badvista.fsf.org/

Here is great start!

"Er, yes... searching for words, and finding them. After the initial shocked silence, Vista users (and refusers) are anything but speechless. They're speaking loudly, and speaking lots. Saying far more than Microsoft would like them to. Saying things to make even a Ballmer cringe. Vista has struck them downright loquacious. In fact, Vista users are rediscovering words they thought Mom had washed out with that bar of Ivory so long ago.

Think we're being snarky and making that up? Nope. Let's listen in to 100 things people are really saying about Vista, shall we? (A warning: it gets rough in there...)'

That FSF website isn't exactly reliable IMHO.

And I'd have to say that there's not that much wrong with it really...compared to XP it's a vast improvement

To be honest I've never noticed the DRM, as I don't watch any HD content off it, and only have DRM free music (legally obtained as well).

And yes while it does use RAM, for basic needs 1GB. However RAM isn't that expensive anymore, unless you're buying it from Dell.

I run it on 2GB RAM and it runs quicker than XP usually

What's wrong?

long startup time, thats wrong. I need to wait 5 minutes after logon to start using it!!!

Also defragmenter is awful, no any information about fragmentation, time or progress just "this may take a while"

and moust important you can't install drivers for ext3 support!

It is closed-source. I know I'm stating the obvious but IMO that's an important point.
