Hi, guys. :)

Gumagawa na ako ng content para sa aking student info-awareness project tungkol sa FOSS. One of the features I'm working on is a section on programs that youth/students might find appealing. Could you point me toward some good open-source:

1. graphics software
2. productivity software
3. multimedia players
4. games
5. other tools

Sana yung pwedeng gumana sa Windows and/or Mac, di lang GNU/Linux - for people who aren't brave enough to make the switch yet. ;) I know the GIMP and OpenOffice.org are obvious choices for nos. 1 and 2. What else? Ano sa tingin niyo? :)

1. graphics software: Inkscape, XaraXtreme (haven't used pero ok daw)
2. productivity software: as in pang-opisina?
AbiWord, meron pang mga kse-based na hindi ko kilala.
Scribus- very powerful desktop publishing software; I'm surprised more printers don't use it instead of their cracked Adobe's but hey...
3. multimedia players: Amarok (haven't used, again great reviews)
4. games: Battle for Wesnoth, TORCS, AstroMenace
5. other tools: firefox, pidgin, clamwin, frostwire, gtk-gnutella, azureus, transmission, deluge
most are cross-platform.

2. PRODUCTIVITY: Sunbird (calendar), Dia (flowcharting)
3. MULTIMEDIA: VLC, Miro, Audacity, Hydrogen
5. OTHER TOOLS: Devede, SoundConverter, Maxima (for solving math problems - mga panghomework)

May iba yata dito hindi cross-platform.
