noob trying to install crusader with wine

Yeah but there's Crusader Kings, Stronghold: Crusader, Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader.. which of those three?

when i run the exe it brings up a black screen with a loading bar but then it closes

Have you looked at the entry in appdb on it? That's your first place to go to get help on installing apps in wine.

yea but i just have a burned cd with the files

Do you know how to run the setup.exe from the terminal? It'll give errors as to why does it close there.

I know this is rather old but I am having problems with this game also. My problem is that there is no sound. I have reviewed everything in the wine app db. I have installed it using the recommended method, updated to 1.1 and applied the no cd patch. I get everything but sound. I tried alsa and oss together and seprately, just cant seem to find the problem. where do i start? thanks.

I got it to work with OSS drivers in emulation mode.
