Can someone explain what I need to do exactly to get Beryl up and running. I'm not sure if my computer can handle it but if it can...cool.

Do I need Beryl to get the cube effect because I was able to get it one time without it but then It jumped back to just the regular switch with mouse wheel.

I'm running 7.10 so the menus and the effects were a little better then before.

SPECS:

256RAM (eek!)
AMD XP
80GIG HD

I need a complete break down of this. I am new to Linux and Ubuntu...been using it for about 1 month and a half and so far I love it!

1) Beryl is not maintained anymore.

2) Get Compiz-Fusion.

3) Read Furlong's blog (http://forlong.blogage.de/article/2007/8/29/How-to-set-up-Compiz-Fusion#) to set it up.

4) System > Administration > Restricted Drivers Management (The restricted drivers will be needed to set up Compiz-Fusion.)

5) You can download it from Synaptic. (System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager)

OK thanks, I'll post if I have any other questions.

Is there a setting for burning windows when they minimize?

See what I wrote here (http://forlong.blogage.de/article/2007/8/29/How-to-set-up-Compiz-Fusion) under Reasonable window effects → Minimize Animation and where I tell you to pick Magic Lamp, choose Burn instead.
