I know this questions has been asked several times, but i read all the forum threads, i tried everything, my workspaces is set to 4, horizontal vertical size is set to 4 and the other 2 options are set to 1. But when i try to flip between workspaces, it only flips the screen, it doesn't actually show the cube. i'm running ubuntu 7.10 on my hp pavilion laptop, i have an nvidia video card and the restricted drivers are turned on. Any help would be much apreciated.

Install compiz manager:
sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager
Go to System > preferences and launch the manager and enable cubes.

very helpful when configuring compiz, esp. the cube.
under 'system > preferences > advanced desktop effects settings' and check out the 'rotate cube > actions' tab. This tells you what button combinations do what. For example, I set "Initiate" to one of my mouse wheel buttons, so when I hold it down and move the mouse, the cube rotates. The above guide is a great help.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I've set this all up nicely and the only thing I can't get working is the cube. I've set the initiate on Rotate Cube to Ctrl+Alt+Down, which doesn't conflict with anything but it doesn't do anything when the sequence is pressed.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
