I want to boot a machine off of my main box. I dont want to do a full install just want it to boot from this comp. Is this possible under ubuntu. Or impossible.
If its possible what will i need to get this working.

Yes it is possible using dhcp/pxe/tftp you can load a kernel and a ramdisk and boot your system this way.
But what exactly do you want to do ?

I want to be able to boot ubuntu without having to use a physical hard drive in the machine
