View Full Version : Ideas Wanted: Background for Ubuntu CD labels

I'm working on a complete set of CD labels for Ubuntu, based on the excellent work of Ulrich Hansen on these Debian labels (http://www.ulrich-hansen.de/etch/). I'm in love with these labels. Look at the GIMP sourcefile to get a feel for the work that went into these, the shadows are great, the placement of images and text is very clean, the whole thing just has a very finished feel.

Anyway, to get to the point... One of my favorite things about the labels is his choice of background images; a screenshot of the Debian Project Leader election results. Not only is it very visually appealing and easily editable (being a single-color image makes it super-easy to change color balance to suit your desires), but it really captures the essence of what Debian is, what makes it great.

So I'm looking for help finding an image that meets those criteria. Something not only visually appealing, but something that captures what Ubuntu's all about. Any thoughts?

I haven't given up on this. If anyone's got an idea, I'd love them for it.
