VMware Host OS Wireless not working!

I have installed Ubuntu 7.10 on VMware where Windows is the host OS. Now I am able to connect to internet on the guest OS but unable to do so with the host OS.
I am not able to figure out the cause. Please post some suggestions!

Tell the guest OS to connect via a wired connection, by disabling wireless.
