I am trying to set up my media center. So far things have gone pretty smooth but I have a few bugs to work out. The main menus in myth are a great size but when I need to do something outside of myth I can't read anything on my SD tv, so I have to unhook every thing and lug it over to my monitor. Its just a big pain and a waste of time. So how can I make the ubuntu side of things default big enough that I can read the fonts on an SD tv?

You can go to System/Preferences/Appearance, and then to the Fonts tab, and modify font sizes there. Make a note of the original settings tho, so you can quickly set them back when you're on a monitor.
