Xbox live has been down for many since Christmas what ever the problem is they seem incapable of fixing it. Forum rumors are starting to fly about hackers with moded 360's attacking xbox live. Another one is that what ever is going wrong is actually braking consoles This one may be true I read an account of someone who's xbox elite console locked up then started with the red circle of death wile trying to login to xbox live at 11:09 pm on the 29th. I'm telling you the time because when speaking to a friend tonight(the 30th) I asked if he had been able to login, He told me that last night wile trying to login his machine had locked up & now was broke. He has two machines so I asked was It the elite? thinking of what I read earlier I also asked when did it happen? He replied it was the elite & that it happened just after 11pm.

Not having my Xbox live addiction fed in a week I'm starting to go though withdrawal, but I thought you guys might at least find it funny.

Is a shame. I hear that is one of the most coveted features of the system.

No, not funny really. Kind of sad really. I don't see Microsofts place in the console world as a bad thing. Though I don't own a 360, I did own the original X-box and it was a good system. I think they were able to bring a lot to console gaming that was lacking, from their PC contributions. Unfortunately, they also brought with it some bad vulnerabilities.

I think Microsoft's X-Box live service was something of a milestone for console gaming and a flagship service that I hope one day all other consoles can live up to. I mean come on, The Dreamcast was offering online play (seganet), and the X-Box was the only system to truly capitalize on that market and evolve it? In my opinion, what gave (and still gives) the 360 a competitive edge over the fun-factor and price tag of the wii, and the beauty and raw power of the PS3 was its ability to leave both systems in the dirt when it comes to online multi player and online content.

I, for one, hope they resolve the issues soon. And I hope Nintendo and Sony are taking good notes...

I don't find it funny, because I don't really care about it.

I don't have an Xbox. I prefer the PS3.

I was having the same problems with XBL. I'm praying my system doesn't lock up and die, though I've had it randomly restart a few times.

Look, I don't do any console online gaming (I mean, why would you pay more for service you can get for free on a pc especially linux?) I prefer PC online because more people use a computer to get online...

I don't hate Microsoft...just don't like Billy "The Kid" Gates
