I'm using swiftweasel right now in Gutsy. I felt a performance increase but also a biggest CPU usage. Anyone else is using it? What about Swiftfox? Witch one do you prefer?

I use Firefox, but I gotta ask, why on earth did you list IE 3.0 in that list?

I prefer swiftfox myself as there are version of FX3 that are upto date.

FX3 itself is already fast adding CPU optimization to the mix increases speed greatly,

Also yes I notice that too as CPU Optimized things tend to start off pulling a lot of juice as the processor is going through more instructions most likely. When its idle though it doesn't make a difference.

I use both FF3 and Opera. FF3 for school and stuff that needs flash because flash doesn't work in Opera. Opera for everything else. FF3 is the only one that has given me problems (and it is Flash's fault, not FF3s).

I use PlaceboFox, which is über-optimized for my 129-bit environment, and indisputably increases rendering performance by 159.44%.

There seems to be something wrong with the theming in Swiftfox. The main toolbar doesn't stay the normal size with other themes than the default (which I don't like).

Sure, he's serious - a lot of differences are fairly superficial. with Swiftfox installation, I haven't been able to run FF, but Swiftweasel and fox run side by side with identical add-ons. Where is the big hit? With Google Chrome, they say that it's sooooo much faster - such a big hit to get a 159% speed boost?

Well actually, that means instead of 100ms, it's around 75ms - and really it's no big deal (how long to take your hand from the keyboard to the mouse? maybe you need shorter-action mouse buttons to speed up your clicking performance?)

He's taking the beans out of everyone taking this argument so seriously!

Why not simply try them all and see if any one of them simply gets more interesting?

Choice is a real bonux - but really it's three flavours of the same choice isn't it? I'd like to see Opera, Firefox, Swift, Fox, Weasel, and a few others sitting side by side - I'm happy to use Epiphany often and to support the underdog as well as have my number one's on the desktop. Nobody likes Flock then?

Use them all - avoid the problem that arises when everyone jumps on the same boat and makes it a monopoly making more money in interest than the competition do in a year of business (the reason that Netscape toppled from the top spot and was obliterated by the free MS desktop browser).

Firefox 3 under Gentoo. Normal Firefox. Better optimized than Swift*?

Build Firefox 3 from source, optimize it for your processor, remove junk you don't need.

I love my Firefox 3 the way I have it now.... it feels better than Swiftfox or Swiftweasel ever felt for me.

I use Vimperator. Technically, that's just an extension over Firefox, but I think of it as a separate browser simply because I would use Opera if it didn't exist.

Iceweasel or Swiftweasel, depending on what I'm booting at the time.
