I have a Dell Wireless card with broadcom chipset. I could install ndiswrapper and use the windows driver to access the internet. However when I try to use the applet, the applet comes up but it breaks the existing wireless connection. Restarting the connection or rebooting the laptop doesn't help. I could see that the Applet detects my card. But it says the scanning capability is not available. However, if I don't use the applet, I could scan from the command prompt using iwlist. If I can scan from command prompt, I suppose it is ndiswrapper 1.1 as I installed it using apt-get from the repos. Any suggestions on how to fix this and get the applet working?
