OK, this is a tease. I spent a few hours today researching and then installing hoary on a machine that won't boot from CD. The machine had a debian sarge/sid hybrid on it that was proving too hard to maintain. So the procedure would specifically describe adding a new unbuntu installation to a machine that already has a running Linux installation. I adapted the procedure from a resource that was mostly centered on installing to a Windows machine, and I'll cite that resource, so people looking for help there might benefit as well.

The basic principal of the network install is pretty simple, but to do it justice will take me a little bit of time. So I wanted to gauge interest in the topic, and also make sure I wasn't covering old ground.

So if anyone thinks this is worthwhile, please post and I'll replace this initial post with an actual HOW TO in a day or two. Conversely, if this topic has been beaten to death elsewhere and I just missed it, please let me know!

I wrote one here: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=143583#post143583 a while ago...

There is a very good one someone wrote using a series of floppy disk images too; plus it's covered in the wiki...

By all means write a better one though :) - S'all about improvement!
