As in subject, I've installed RT2 on Gutsy 64 bit, but I can't get sound to work.

I have sound working, ALSA, for everything else. I tried turning off system sounds, tried using ESD, no joy.

Installing esound package breaks the Sound preferences GUI.

Since trying these things, RT2 just opens a blank screen! Et least my first attempts gave me a playable, though silent, game.

Dunno if you have tried but try typing "winecfg" in the terminal and looking around in the Audio tab?

Surprisingly, sound has started working! I had a problem with XDMCP login screens for a day, and since I corrected that I have sound in RT2, but it sounds "chopped".

I seem to remember having this once before, a couple of years ago, on my previous AMD system, when I tried using ESD to mix RT2's sounds with music playing through Xine.

I'll give your winecfg idea a try.
