Hi all.

Just wondering weather anyone had input about the problem I'm experiencing, or had experienced it himself. I'm trying to install Edgy on a new black MacBook, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, 2.2 GHz Core Duo. When I attempt to boot into live cd, I get an x-server error, which prevents me from continuing. Apparently my screen isn't being picked up. My questions are thus:

1) Can I reconfigure the x-server without actually booting into live cd?

2) Would connecting an external display allow me to configure the x-server for my macbook screen, which would thereafter serve as the primary display?

Any input would be helpful. People have obviously run Ubuntu on macbooks, so I know it's possible; I just don't know how.

Thanks in advance.

I tried installing the amd64 version of Dapper, after abandoning attempts to reset the x server on the i386 ISO. I got the same result. It just won't recognize my screen. Is there any way around this? I can't boot into live cd, obviously, so I don't think there's much I can do...
