im in the process of getting a dvd burner but 4 now i only have a cd burner. I really want to experiment with ubuntu studio. is thier a cd version. or an alternative which gets the same thing done (like 64 studio) I primarily want a distro made for audio editing.

You could install ubuntu-minimal and then install Ubuntu studio (but this requires an internet connection through an ethernet port). You could also use the CD image through virtualbox.

You can always upgrade from a current version of Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty.
UbuntuStudio/UpgradingFromGusty: (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudio/UpgradingFromGutsy)
Open a terminal then cut and paste:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ubuntustudio-desktop ubuntustudio-audio ubuntustudio-audio-plugins ubuntustudio-graphics ubuntustudio-video linux-rt
This will install a full blown Ubuntu Studio installation...or you can pick and choose which applications you like.

There is an alternate install cd but it is 800.9 mb you will need a 800 mb cd . Just google it for the link I don't remember.
