Hi I recently had a problem with my Synaptic Update Manager and i wasnt able to update or install new things through synaptic but that was recently fixed (yesterday). this meant that i was finally able to update but when i did so there was nothing wrong at first; meaning compiz was working fine. when i did a restart, compiz didnt start altogether but rather i just had 2 desktops with the settings in the appereance set to "Extra". when i try to change it to custom and push the 'preferences' button nothing loads up. i cant even open up this advanced settings manager from the system --> appearance. ive tried basically everything that was on all other threads. can someone help me with this?
