When I was testing Compiz Fusion on Feisty, it worked perfectly for me. Granted, I had the NVidia black-window bug, but I lived with it.
When I upgraded to Gutsy, I had problems. First, it wouldn't even let compiz start due to me not having "enough" video ram. I fixed that with the help of this forum, but now...
Whenever I try to start compiz through the Appearance Settings thing, it refuses and gives me an error about "Desktop Effects could not be Enabled".
I can manually start Compiz through the terminal or runbox, but it takes FOREVER for it to get going. Forever meaning several minutes instead of 5 seconds. Anyone have any ideas? I have no error logs or anything like that to post.
