Running ifconfig this morning I was surprised to see dozens of different ip addresses listed under inet addr.

Thinking I was being hacked, I rebooted the machine, and the inet addr entry is back to a single address.

My question: Was I being hacked? If so, anything I can do to prevent another occurence?

Thanks so much!

PS: I am running Gutsy 7.10, server.

I guess that your DHCP server is misconfigured.

Cheers,
