I have read every thread targeting this specific issue on Ubuntu Forums, lurked in xbuntu and compiz IRC groups. I am positive it is possible to have a working ATI system spanning two identical LCD monitors running off my X800XT, with compiz fusion. Please contribute if you have information!

So far I've gotten dual monitors to work and with mirrored displays compiz fusion. The known issue is the MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE. According to: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=592016, some have gotten this to work. I'm not sure how, because my system just has an artifact heart attack, but works if I try and use the cube. It only renders 2048 worth of visual information though...

I don't plan to stop trying until someone can prove it's not possible. I will keep this thread updated if I learn anything.

So my question to you all is, can you bypass this limitation and if so, how?
