Why is wings 3d so slow?

I recently downloaded wings for linux & i have used it on windows, & for some reason the linux version is jus really really slow :(
which is wierd because the windows version was much faster

does any one have an answer for this (drivers are installed correctly & my gpu is a sad integrated geforce6100)
