Microsoft is Sync'ing your car now. So yeah, already some forums on this, but I got to thinking that some of you must have some jokes about it don't you?
Here's what I wonder:
If Sync has a serious error, do the windows display the blue screen of death and crash your car?
Do you have to pay to keep your airbags updated?

Do you have to pay to keep your airbags updated?
No, they don't come with airbags, but you get a little disk that you can use to upgrade to airbags, if you pay money.

How can I figure out if my car is genuine?

You will need to install an ActiveX control for that!

I foresee this as being the cause of many traffic jams and frustration. Picture this: you're driving along zippily at 70mph or so (on the interstate, of course) and your car suddenly decides it needs to update, sync, whatever, and you quickly decelerate to ~25mph because your car is working overtime.
Ugh...
I bet it would, more often than not, do it while you're in the left lane... and then it would make sure your left blinker was on with no way to cancel it.

LOL...
Here's another thought:
Since Windows is so prone to viruses/malware I'm sure you would need a virus protection program.
I can see that now, you have to run the virus protection and your steering wheel gets quarantined.
Heaven forbid if you get into the car with a cold or a flu.

Haha!
Hey guys, it's the VISTA ULTIMATE CAR!
You try to turn the steering wheel: "Would you like to turn the car? Accept or Deny"
You try to press on the brake to stop: "Windows has detected an unsafe device attached to this car. The device will now be disabled."
You try to press on the gas pedal: "Windows Firewall has detected a connection attempt by the fuel line. Would you like to continue blocking this traffic?"
You try to play some music from your mp3 player: "Windows has detected illegal media, Windows will now be shut down." All of a sudden your car slows to a stop and a cop pulls you over.

If you could get the car moving in the first place...
Turn the ignition: Windows responds "you need to be admin to do that"

No, no doors are locked, because it assumes you are owner and want full control without authentication.

If WGA thinks you pirated the car, it will explode.

Just heard that Microshaft is using their call center to replace OnStar service. I have here a copy of their first call:
Microshaft: "Microsoft technical support. My name is Bob, how may I assist you?"
Guy: "Uhhhh...I just got into a crash."
Microshaft: "We noticed that. What we need to do here is run you through a check list to see what caused the crash. Now, sir, would you please 'refresh' your car and..."
Guy: "WHAT?! I got in a crash! Can you please call 911 for me?"
Microshaft: "Well, sir, we need to run through this checklist first."
Guy: "I'm hurt!"
Microshaft: "Then it looks like you may have been sitting too close to the steering wheel. What you need to do is sit back. Might I also suggest installing new drivers?"
Guy: "......"
(FYI: Yes, this is totally made-up. The new driver thing was my bro's first thought. :lolflag:)

:lolflag: Bob answered the phone! Perhaps it was Microsoft Bob? :lolflag:
If I ever called Microsoft and "Bob" answered I would laugh, hang up, and probably kill myself.

Just be glad it's not the ME car. It'd probably do something stupid like delete the exhaust system.

My First Though was Spyware. Senario:
You are driving to work one day, you loaded some new songs the day before and want to listen to them. All of a sudden your car doors lock and the controls become non-responsive, but you car is still driving. By itself it pulls up to the docks and stops. In the rear veiw mirror you see a man with a mask step out of the shadows....

1a) Consider MicroSoft.
1b) Consider the situation of their "flagship" product, Windows Vista.
1c) Consider most of MS's best sellers are games.
1d) Consider the continuance of their income is in large part due to their sheer size.
2a) Consider Ford.
2b) Consider the situation of their "flagship" products, Lincoln and Jaguar.
2c) Consider most of Ford's best sellers are, well, disposeable.
2d) Consider the continuance of their income is in large part due to their sheer size.
3a) Consider MicroSoft and Ford partnering.
3b) Consider the product of the union of these mega-corporations: despite all those resources, it's not a vehicle nor anything revolutionary or important to anyone but themselves, rather a proprietization of pre-existing accessories likely to further burden their unwary customers.
3c) Consider that they named the result of their partnership Sync.
Laugh Out Loud. Some assembly, but no puns required. The Laugh's on them. Alas, mostly Ford.
