Needed a machine for a non-profit client that would run a web browser and a text-editor - that's it.
There was an imac 350 (slot loading) around with 192mb of ram, so I installled xubuntu feisty. The installation went well for the most part - display is perfect, sound works.
However, during the install a message popped up saying - "You must change your unix password root enforced". This continued with the login after the install and everytime I use 'sudo'.
Any ideas?
Also, the system runs slow, really slow - I will have to bump up the ram. Any recommendations as to how much is necessary to make the machine perform reasonably well for the tasks I mentioned? The ram for this imac is relatively cheap.
