I'm considering using virtualbox for my ubuntu feisty. I have already installed virtualbox, I just have to install windows xp for it now. But before I do that, I have few questions I would like answered first:

1. Will the windows xp be much slower than normally?
2. I need windows mainly to play games. I got pretty good computer, and at least with only windows installed I was able to play almost all new games with full graphics. But now when I run windows through virtualbox, will it be much slower?
3. Anything else I should know about using windows xp through virtualbox befoer I start?

Bah, 1. and 2. questions are almost the same, but I can't help it :)

If you plan to play games on Virtualbox, it will be slow, and probably won't work because VB doesn't have 3D support. If you are going to use XP with Games, I would recommend dualbooting.

It depends how much memory you allow it...

I have it with Vista (for my iPod), and it is not much slower - I have allowed it 1.5GB of memory.

But, naturally, the proper install is faster - if more annoying!

If you are going to run Windows games in Ubuntu, you have very little choice but Wine or Cedega. Visit http://appdb.winehq.org/ to find out what kind of games work under Wine.
