I went to KDE-LOOK.org, checked out their BootSplash selection and could not help but notice the same category is used for four different stages of booting. I am not sure what to call any of them, but I would like to know, largely because I would like to change a couple of them....

1. Dual-Boot selection screen (not common, but it was there)
2. ?The nuts & bolts? (detailed list of the start-up)
3. The (in my case) Kubuntu logo, name and progress bar
4. Log-in screen

I am happy with 1 & 2... but would like to change 3 and the log-in... to better go with the FingerPrint Splash Screen. Knowing what 3 is actually called would be most helpful in searching for ways to change it.

I will poke around with Splashy and see if I can figure out what's what, but any help would of course be helpful.

Thank you for your time!

1. That is the GRUB splash screen
2. That can be customized (ie what font/size you want), but it depends on what you are using for the next one.
3. That is the usplash theme. Try splashy first though. ;)
4. That is the KDM theme.

Also, if you want, try downloading StartUp Manager (http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?groupname=startup-manager&filename=startupmanager_1.9.9-1_all.deb) to help with theming GRUB/Splashy.
