Hi everyone...this is my 1st post here:-) I have been fooling with gutsy on my sun blade 100 (500mhz 1GB RAM) for about a week now. Thanks to all of the useful information in this forum, I have it installed and it seems to work well with the OBP updated and the no dma options set. However, I would like to have some sort of desktop loaded on this machine. I have tried, multiple times, to load both ubuntu-desktop and kbuntu-desktop. Everytime, I get the same result: at some point during the installation, my machine hangs up. The only way to break out is to do a hard reboot (pull the power plug out). Sadly enough, when I do this, my machine either fails to boot (wrong magic number error), or I do a dpkg --configure -a and the machine hangs up again. Can anyone give me some advice here? I do get unresolved dependencies when I try the install using aptitude, but I am unsure of how to resolve them.
