Hello all! I know this has very little to do with Ubuntu, but seeing as I am a user of Ubuntu, I will post this anyway. I am planning on getting a Slim PSP soon, and I heard that there are certain factors that disallow one from downgrading it to firmware 1.0-1.5 (actually any downgrading) and I have a homebrew app called Descent PSP (it is the classical DOS game Descent 1) and I would like to run it on that PSP. It currently wou't run because of some firmware incompatibility issue. What I would like to know is : How can i run it on there with some sort of custom firmware without screwing up the psp? I would really appreciate the help with this matter!
Go here for the descent psp website:

this thread really has very little place here... normally i'd close it, but somehow i'm morbidly amused at your complete obliviousness to the fact that someone has replied to you

I am speechless... yet I am aware of the fact that someone has replied to me, and the fact that this is out of place here. I come to this forum to seek assistance for what I do not understand about technology; and what better than a blog site for computer guru's. All I ask is a little bit of help on this matter; nothing more and nothing less.

This is not a blog site. This is a Linux forum.

When you get the slim. Dont update the firmware, and follow the instructions on the site mentioned below.
Go to Maxconsole forums website's PSP section on downgrading PSPs
Theres a very detailed how-to on Slim PSPs.

Why not get a GP2X?
It's a linux-based handheld and can run a lot of more programs and games than the PSP.
The new one even has a touch-screen.

There you go, follow the directions carefully and don't ask about it on this forum again. Be gone.
