TWO

I realise that similar threads have been posted but I wanted to start one that was specific to my particular laptop.
I have jumped between Feisty and Gutsy multiple times in the last two months and both the trial of desktop effects on Feisty and the actual implementation on Gutsy worked like a charm.
On the most recent version of Feisty and my now current version of Gutsy- I had updated- desktop effects can't be implemented. I get a few flickers of the screen then "Desktop Effects could not be enabled."
In all honesty I don't have a graphic card worth mentioning. I am running Ubuntu on a Dell Inspiron 1300, with Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 03).
But the fact of the matter is that Desktop Effects have worked on here before, so I don't understand why I can't enable them any more.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
