Hi there,
I noticed the other day that Audacity was refusing to record - I'd hit the record button; it would create a new track but nothing would record. Notably, it wasn't recording silence: it was just sitting there at 0 seconds without moving the pointer and without recording anything.
After some experimentation I noticed that it does work immediately after startup but soon goes back to as I mentioned above. This is when Audacity is set to use ALSA for audio input and output. If I select OSS then Audacity will freeze when pressing the recording button.
Yes, I have checked to make sure that the mic is not muted and that no other programs using the audio are running.
Any ideas? Or what else should I post to help with diagnosis? Thanks.
