Free Unix Spectrum Emulator (FUSE)

Does anyone know of a howto or any documentation that describes the installation of FUSE and libspectrum.
I have compiled both from source which went ok but if I run FUSE it says that libspectrum.so.2 can't be found and crashes out.

Any help would be much apreciated

its november 2008 by now and i try the 0.9.0 release .
I think GCC or some is missing variables.
