"Mute" Doesn't Completely Mute

I can't tell if this is a feature or a bug.

I have a PVR-150, and am using the included remote with everything defaulted.

When watching TV, if I hit the Mute button, it says "Mute On," but it doesn't completely mute it. It just makes it quieter. There's a definite distinction between the mute being on and off, but it's not muted. :)

If it's a feature, how do I turn it off?
If it's a bug, is there any fix for it?

A little more information: It looks like "Mute" is doing it's job (taking the volume to zero).

However, I noticed that, even if I take the volume down to 0 manually, there's still sound coming out.

So.....is this a problem with the "Myth" or the "buntu"? (MythTV settings or Ubuntu's volume settings) or something else?
