Hi. I live in Albuquerque, have been using Ubuntu or Kubuntu almost exclusively for three years or so (currently on Gutsy with Hardy A1 downloading as I type) and have decided to get with the loco action.

The thing is...I've never had occasion to use an IM or IRC client before this.

In preparation for the next meeting I've registered myself on the wiki page and installed irssi but I'm clueless as to how to tell irssi to connect to the proper channel.

pointers appreciated.
