View Full Version : Loading into the WoW World: when the bar ends, so does my chance at getting in game.

After I select my character, and the screen starts to show the loading screen, it loads to full (the blue bar is full at the bottom) and yet no matter how long I proceed to let it load, it never lets me go further (load the world, move my character). I'm using Wine, and it was running fine before. It worked until I booted up Windows and played it there, then moved back to Ubuntu. Any ideas?

Are you playing it on a shared drive?

It's possible WoW changed your Config.wtf file in ***dows and has caused a conflict.
Carefully check your settings. ^_^

For a while now, whenever I use Wine to play WoW, I select my character and the loading bar proceeds to start to go up. Once it finishes, the game seems to freeze at the screen with the loading bar finished, and never actually load me into the world. I feel as if this may have happened because I originally was playing it on Linux when I installed Linux, went back to Windows for something, played it, and since I came back to Linux it has not worked. I tried deleting my configuration files (Config.wtf) and it doesn't seem to help. Any info would be appreciated.

Does it still work in windows?

I can be a mpq problem, try selecting another server / char pref if you are max lvl make a new one and see if you can enter the world, I've had that problem a few times.

Try running blizzards repair function if you haven't

remove interface and wtf folder before starting

lets start with that and see if that helps :)
